Harbourfront Center Toronto
Harbourfront Center, located on the shore of Lake Ontario, is a facility housing enough activities to keep you going for days. It features various performances on its stages, including dance, readings, music and drama, as well as a multitude of activities for kids. This is a great place to visit as it costs nothing to enter the actual facility, and all of the performances prices are either very reasonable or are entirely free.
Art lovers will want to be sure to visit the Powerplant Contemporary Art Gallery, which contains a wide variety of exhibitions. The York Quay hosts a multitude of work from different artists on both the local and international scale. Bounty, the Contemporary Canadian Art Shop is where you can both shop for exquisite, one-of-a-kind art and craft work, as well as watch it being created in the glass, metals, textiles and ceramics studios. The Artists Garden is a real treat and should not be missed: here, various artists, architects, designers and crafters have created an impressive and interesting garden.
The Harbourfront Center is devoted to promoting culture and diversity, and this is visible in its International Marketplace and World Cafe. The outdoor marketplace hosts a variety of constantly changing vendors selling everything from clothing and textiles to crafts and jewelry. Continue on your international experience by having a meal at the world cafe, where cuisine from around the globe can be sampled.
To really enjoy the lake for all its worth, try a nautical adventure. The Harbourfront Center offers kayak lessons, a sailing program and yachting. Also worth trying is a tour of the Inner Harbour, or a romantic dinner cruise.
