The Royal Ontario Museum
The Royal Ontario Museum was created in 1912 by the Provincial Government of Ontario. This museum mainly showcases the cultural and natural history of Canada, as well as exhibits focusing on other parts of the planet. This facility is also one of the leading research centers of Canada's natural, social and cultural world. The museum hosts a multitude of constantly changing galleries, but its permanent galleries are the ones that really shine.

The East Asian Sculpture gallery showcases religious stone sculptures dating back as far as the 2nd Century. The South Asian Gallery is the first of its kind in Canada, and is home to sculptures, manuscripts, armor, textiles and jewelry, all of which are lavishly carved and decorated. The Decorative Arts in the Art Deco Style Gallery contains impressive and rare works from the worlds best known art-deco artists, mainly from 1920's and 1930's-era France. The Hands on Biodiversity introduces visitors to the interdependent lives of plants and animals through interactive, hands-on exhibits and programs.

The Life Sciences and Paleontology Galleries take up the entire second floor of the museum, and educate visitors on the diversity of earth's life forms from past to present. The fascinating Bat Cave is located here, an exhibit illustrating the lives of bats and other animals researched by scientists in Jamaica. The Mammal Gallery is packed with lifelike dioramas of the habitats of various animals. The Dinosaur Gallery is fun for kids and grown-ups alike with its many huge, lifelike casts of Dinosaur bones and realistic dioramas. The Birds Gallery is also fascinating, showing visitors the lives of both rare and common birds of the world.

Peer into Mummy cases and take a virtual tour through the Great Pyramid in the Ancient Egypt Gallery. The Samuel European Galleries boast an impressive collection of European art, including paintings, sculpture and furniture.
